Agency's Responsibilities

The Edo state Ministry of Digital Economy, Science and Technology is a strategic agency dedicated to driving innovation, promoting digital inclusion, and leveraging technology for sustainable development in Edo State. The agency is entrusted with the following responsibilities:

1.

Develop and implement policies to promote the digital economy in Edo State

2.

Support and facilitate the growth of the state’s science and technology sector.

3.

Promote research and innovation in science, technology, and digital economy.

4.

Develop strategies to improve digital literacy and skills among the populace.

5.

Provide support for technology-driven entrepreneurship and startups.

6.

Facilitate collaboration between government, academia, and industry in STI.

7.

Ensure the effective use of technology for governance and service delivery.

8.

Implement programs to bridge the digital divide and promote digital inclusion.

9.

Establish and maintain partnerships with relevant stakeholders in the STI ecosystem.

10.

Monitor and evaluate the impact of STI policies and programs in the state.

11.

* Any other duty as may be assigned by the Governor.
